A memory is often found in a whisper

With tomorrow being Mothers Day, I couldnt help but remember my own mother who passed away over 13years ago. Yet, despite her death I will always remember her in the whisper of my memories.

I know I am not the only one with the scars of death that has left its pierce upon my soul. Mothers Day, for some is a mere tragedy rather than a joy. Its a day of mourning, hurt, and even regret. Some have lost a mother, grandmother, a child, or are haunted by a decision years ago that left them regretful, yet are painfully reminded of "what could have been" every Mothers Day.

Mothers Day has a way of whispering to us "Mother". The memories of our childhood flash into our minds, the sweetness of our mothers cross our hearts leaving us with a smile. We are whispered the reminder of our Mother, of being a Mother, and the potential of being a Mother.

I dont know what you will be whispered  this Mothers Day, but I'd like to whisper the hope that is found in the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ, who through his life, death and ressurection has conquered death and its sting. Jesus bore our grief, our sin, our regret, our pain, and our hurt. While on the cross he whispered "It is Finished".  I hope that you find comfort in his life. May you have hope in his whisper this Mothers Day! That he has loved you with an everlasting love.
